Official Offices and Records

For a recent parish-jail event, start with the West Baton Rouge Parish Detention Center booking desk. A formal request for an existing booking sheet or release-event record should be routed to the Sheriff’s Office records custodian. Court minutes come from the Clerk of Court, while Louisiana state custody and supervision questions belong to DPS&C.

The detention center’s posted administrative hours do not establish when physical releases take place. Call the booking desk about a specific booking, and confirm the proper records custodian before mailing a request or payment.

Choose the route that matches the question:

  • For a named person or a parish release record, use the home page search path and request steps.
  • For supervision after physical release, consult Post-Release Supervision.
  • For recent parish releases, review the 24-Hour Releases fallback options. West Baton Rouge Parish does not publish a verified 24-hour release feed.
  • For an estimated date or notification, use Release Date Lookup and the VINE Inmate Check.
  • For a particular custody location or system, select its facility page in the footer.
  • For a Louisiana state-sentenced person, use LAVNS or call the DPS&C telephone locator with the DPS&C number or the person’s name and date of birth.
  • For federal sentenced custody or immigration detention, use the official BOP or ICE locator and follow the agency that holds the person.
